About Her House Media

Her House Media LLC, nestled in the Washington DC metro area, is an independent media company on a mission to revolutionize storytelling. Our focus lies in producing documentary and horror-thriller films and books, written and directed by women of color. Our documentaries deeply explore the critical issues of women’s beauty and health, aiming to illuminate and challenge the prevailing narratives in these areas. Meanwhile, our horror-thriller films are notable for featuring women of color in leading roles that are meticulously crafted to be free of stereotypes, offering audiences new and empowering perspectives.

In our commitment to inclusivity and impact, Her House Media ensures that our narratives do not just reach a wide audience but are accessible to all. We achieve this by incorporating audio descriptions and closed captioning in our films, making sure that members of the blind and deaf communities can enjoy our content fully. This commitment to accessibility underscores our dedication to fostering an inclusive media landscape where every story is told, and every voice is heard.

The documentaries we produce are not just films; they are a call to action and reflection, focusing on the complex issues surrounding women’s beauty and health. Through these narratives, we aim to provoke thought, foster understanding, and inspire change, ensuring that diverse stories and experiences are brought to the forefront.

Our horror-thriller films challenge the industry’s norms by offering thrilling narratives with women of color at their core, portraying them as complex, multi-faceted characters. This approach not only entertains but also broadens the representation within the genre, paving the way for more diverse storytelling.

At Her House Media, we are driven by the vision of making a significant impact in the media and film industry, promoting diversity and inclusivity on all fronts. Whether through our thought-provoking documentaries or our genre-defying horror/thriller films, our aim is to alter the landscape of storytelling. Each project, whether a film, a book, or a combination of both, is a step towards realizing this mission.

We are not just creating content; we are creating an impact by building a movement towards a more inclusive, representative, and accessible media world. By ensuring our films are accessible to blind and deaf audiences, we move closer to a media industry that celebrates diversity, not just in the stories it tells but in the audiences it serves. Through our dedication to quality, innovation, diversity, and accessibility, Her House Media aims to inspire, educate, and entertain, contributing to much-needed change in the media and film sectors.
